The PHYSIS project aim at modeling, transformation and real-time synthesis of scene sounds for interactive virtual worlds (video games, simulations, serious games…) and augmented reality. Environmental sound textures play an important part in these applications and determine the ambience and mood of scenes. Within the project, the partners tried different methods to extend a given sound texture recording for an infinite amount of time, to avoid needing to resort to looping.
